Anastasia celebrated her 14th birthday with gifts, lasagna for dinner and Strawberry Angel-food cake for dessert. I have to say that trying to pull off this cake was a bit of a challenge. It's always turned out well back in the states, but here, I do not have the greatest oven and didn't have my good Bosch mixer yet. Needless to say, it turned out quite poorly. We were left with a tiny cake about 1-inch tall. At least we all got a small piece, right!? Hopefully next time I'll have things figured out and it will turn out a little nicer. Regardless, Anastasia had a good birthday and after gifts all the kids rushed out the door for mutual.
A new lamp for her room.
Birthday clothes and swimsuits for swim team/water polo.
A new mirror that will be hung near an outlet in her bedroom. We can't blow-dry our hair in the bathroom because it doesn't have an outlet! She's pretty excited to be able to see herself while she blow dries now :).
The cute activity days girls made dinner for us as a service project for their activity that night. Thank you so much, you sweethearts! Thanks to their leader, we appreciate you thinking of us!
