I have a headache and don't want to try and summarize what the email said today. So I am just cutting and pasting what Elliana had to say today about the meeting.
Oleg talked to the chief of the department and he was told that they will look through the system and he should come in a week, they will tell him if Masha's file is in. She also pointed out strongly that there is no need to talk to the director with the request for waiving one year because it will not be done. And as far as Masha being or not being in the system, they don't care from the point of view of Nastia's adoption in June because, she said, we have to deal with the region and if the regional authorities give us permission to adopt one girl first then the SDA will be ok with that.
Irena is asking me to explain to you that she and Oxana are going to be in that region with the families now, and they will need a bit of time to make a good contact with everyone there, and by the end of the first process, our guys will know everyone and who can make the most influence. They will talk to the regional people about what is the best to do in your case.
So sorry that it is still not a definite answer in many sense, because we will know about Masha's file only in a week or so and about the details from the region during the next month.
But most likely, our guys will just make sure that the region is ok with you coming in June and taking one girl first and the other when she is available. There is no option, unfortunately to adopt 2 of them at the same time in June.
We wait a little longer and know for sure at that point whether we'll be going in June for one daughter or not. We'll keep you posted!

We wish you the best. What a tough situation and decision. We are use to a logical system here and it really doesn't make any sense what they are doing. Hang in there.

How frustrating!
So sorry to hear that you won't get them both in June. I hope it works out in the next best way for you and the girls.
Jen and Drew, We will continue to keep you in our prayers and on the temple roll. We pray that you can feel some comfort.
I totally recommend using a 16 X 20 frame. I used a 8 X 10 and its too small. Doesnt hold enough. I am going to have to make a bigger one sometime. Especially since the two girls are going to be sharing it. And don't use to thing of ribbon cause they dont hold them as well. Just a few tips!
